From Arnold Anderson, Secretary, STCSC.
The nominating committee of the Sealyham Terrier Club of Southern California consisting of Jill Ferrera (chairperson), Suzanne Hartley-Hill and Mark Taggart has nominated the following members for the year 2012 Officer and Board positions. All have accepted the nominations:
President Jill Ferrera
Vice-President Fran Brown
Sectretary Arnold Anderson
Treasurer Judith Mugrauer
Board Jan Simonds, Henry Sutliff III, Mary Yeghianian
Our Constitution and By-Laws provide that additional nominations may be made no later than December 1, 2011 by written petition to the Secretary, signed by five members and endorsed by each additional nominee, showing his or her willingness to be a candidate. If no valid additional nominations are received, the Nominating Committee's slate shall be declared elected.
On Friday morning, June 22, 2012, the STCSC will hold an independent specialty at the Queen Mary Events Park in Long Beach. Our regular class judge voted on by our members is Sally George. Sally and her husband Mark, who live in northern California, have been handlers, including Sealyhams, for many years. Now, Sally is a judge. Our Sweeps judge is Diana Perry, secretary for the American Sealyham Terrier Club and long-time Sealyham breeder and exhibitor.
On Friday afternoon, June 22, 2012, the American Sealyham Terrier Club will have a specialty at the same location. The regular class judge is Connie Clark. Connie, who lives in northern California, is a former handler, including Sealyhams. There will not be a sweeps class in the afternoon since it was thought that four shows in one day is a bit much for our Sealy pups.
Great Western Terrier Association has shows at the same location on Saturday and Sunday, June 23 and 24, at the same location. The Sealyham sweeps judge for Sunday's show is Wes Jones, long-time Sealyham breeder and exhibitor. This will be a very special weekend and we hope all of you can come.
Our annual dinner and meeting will be on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at the Celestino restaurant in Pasadena. This is an Italian-French restaurant, the same location as our dinner meeting last year. More information will be sent in December.
Please plan to attend.
Hope to see you on January 14 and again next June in Long Beach.
